In more detail
Rectangular furniture legs create a problem that round and square pads can't solve. A round pad inscribed inside a rectangular base leaves both long edges exposed. A square pad either overhangs one direction or fails to cover the other. Only a pad that matches both the length and the width of the base protects the full contact area. Rectangular self-adhesive furniture pads do exactly that: PA6 needle-punched fiber cut to 108 precise size combinations across 6 width groups, covering every rectangular leg, sled-base runner, cabinet rail, and wide furniture foot on the market. Rectangular furniture pads match the shape of the base, so every edge is covered.

Rectangular bases have two independent dimensions, so measuring takes one extra step compared to round or square legs. With 108 rectangular self-adhesive furniture pad sizes, there's a precise match for virtually any rectangular contact point.
Step 1. Access the base
Flip the furniture or tilt it onto its side. You need a clear view of the flat bottom surface where the rectangular self-adhesive furniture pad will bond. For sled-base chairs, look at the full contact area of the runner, not just the end.
Step 2. Measure width and length
Measure the short side (width) first in millimeters. This determines your width group. Then measure the long side (length). Both measurements together identify the exact pad from the 108-size matrix. If both sides are equal, the leg is square: use square pads instead.
Step 3. Pick slightly smaller
Both dimensions of the rectangular self-adhesive furniture pad should be slightly smaller than your base. The pad should sit fully inside the footprint with no overhang on any edge. If your measurement falls between two sizes, go smaller in both directions.
Sled-base runners: measure the full length of the contact area, not just the visible frame. Many sled-base chairs have runners that extend 5-7/8" to 15-3/4" (150 to 400 mm) along the floor. Installation steps
Strip pad alignment: for 20-1/16" (510 mm) strips on sled-base runners, trim the strip to your runner's contact length with a utility knife first. Then start at one end and press along the length in sections. Working from one end to the other prevents air pockets and misalignment. Don't try to place the entire rectangular self-adhesive furniture pad strip at once.

Rectangular furniture bases vary enormously. A narrow sofa rail might be 9/16″ x 7-7/8″ (15 x 200 mm). A buffet foot might be 1-3/16″ x 2-3/8″ (30 x 60 mm). A bench base might be 2″ x 15-3/4″ (50 x 400 mm). Unlike round and square pads, where one dimension defines the size, rectangular pads need two independent dimensions. The 6 width groups (from narrow strips to wide platforms) with multiple lengths in each group let you match virtually any rectangular contact point without cutting or using oversized pads that overhang.
Yes. That is one of the primary applications. Long, narrow strip pads protect the entire contact line where a sofa rail, credenza base, or cabinet bottom meets the floor. The continuous PA6 fiber surface distributes weight along the full length instead of concentrating it at the corners. This prevents the indentations and scratches that corner-only protection misses. Strips up to 20-1/16″ (510 mm) are available.
The ABS platform. Rectangular self-adhesive furniture glides have a rigid ABS disc and come in one size (33 × 3/4″ (19 mm)). Rectangular self-adhesive furniture pads skip the ABS platform and come in Pads are better for static or low-movement furniture where precise sizing matters more than structural rigidity under repeated lateral loads.
Measure the long side and the short side of the leg base in millimeters. Match both dimensions to the closest pad in the 108-size range. The pad should be slightly smaller than the leg so it sits inside the footprint with no overhang. If both sides are equal, the leg is square: use square self-adhesive furniture pads instead. If the leg is round, use round pads.
Yes. The PA6 surface distributes the table’s weight across the full pad area instead of concentrating it on bare wood or metal contact points. For very heavy dining tables, pianos, or commercial fixtures, consider rectangular heavy-duty pads at 7/16″ (11 mm) thick for additional load distribution. Clean the leg base with isopropyl alcohol before applying for the strongest bond.

I used the 20 × 60 mm self-adhesive glides on the metal feet of my counter stools over LVP flooring, and they fit very well with only a slight overhang. They make the stools easier to slide while helping protect the floor, and the adhesive has held securely so far.
