Square Self-Adhesive Furniture Pads

Cheap felt pads under a square leg compress flat, trap grit, and peel off within weeks. These use the same PA6 needle-punched fiber as our glides, covering every corner with interlocked fibers that won’t crush down or grind grit into the floor. No rigid platform, so it follows irregular bases. EHBT fiberglass mesh adhesive bonds to wood, metal, and plastic. For smooth, hard floors.

Overview

Square Self-Adhesive Furniture Pads

Square furniture legs have four corners. Every one of them is a concentration point where bare wood or metal digs into your floor finish. A round pad on a square leg leaves those corners completely exposed. Square self-adhesive furniture pads cover the full footprint, corner to corner, so every contact point between your furniture and your floor is protected. PA6 needle-punched fiber on the floor side. EHBT fiberglass mesh acrylic adhesive on the leg side. No tools, no hardware, no damage to the furniture. Square furniture pads for hardwood floors cover the corners a round pad leaves bare.

from 20 × 20 mm to 300 × 300 mm. That covers everything from small accent table legs to large cabinet bases and commercial display fixtures. If you have been settling for adhesive felt pads for square legs that compress flat and peel off every few weeks, this is the upgrade. Furniture pads for hardwood floors, tile, laminate, vinyl, and stone that actually last.

How to Measure Your Square Leg for the Right Pad Size

This step takes 30 seconds and determines whether your pads stay on or fall off. With 32 square self-adhesive furniture pad sizes at 10 mm increments, there is a near-exact match for every square leg.

Step 1. Access the leg base

Flip the furniture or tilt it onto its side. You need a clear view of the flat bottom surface where the square self-adhesive furniture pad will bond.

Step 2. Measure both sides

Measure one side of the square base in millimeters. Confirm the perpendicular side is the same length. If both sides are equal, the leg is square. If one side is longer, the leg is rectangular: use rectangular pads instead.

Step 3. Pick slightly smaller

Choose the square self-adhesive furniture pad size that is slightly smaller than your measurement. The pad should sit fully inside the leg footprint. If your measurement falls between two sizes, always go smaller. A pad that overhangs catches on things and peels away.

Tapered square legs: measure at the very bottom, not halfway up. The flat face that touches the floor is the only dimension that matters. Many mid-century and Scandinavian designs taper from a wide top to a narrow base, so the floor contact is smaller than you’d expect. Square self-adhesive furniture pads in the smaller sizes handle these tapered profiles.

How to Install Stick-On Furniture Pads Square Legs Need

No tools. No drilling. No hardware. Every square self-adhesive furniture pad comes with EHBT fiberglass mesh acrylic adhesive already applied. Peel the backing, press the pad, done. Installation takes less time than reading this section.

What you need
  • 70% isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth
  • Access to the bottom of each furniture leg
  • That’s it. No tools, no drill, no screws
Installation steps
  1. Wipe the bottom of the leg with isopropyl alcohol. Old wax, dust, and adhesive residue prevent a strong bond. Clean surface = reliable hold.
  2. Peel the yellow backing to expose the EHBT adhesive layer.
  3. Align the square self-adhesive furniture pad corners with the leg corners and press firmly for 30 seconds. Initial tack is immediate. Allow 48 hours for the adhesive to reach full cure. Full contact across the entire surface, no air pockets, no lifted edges.
  4. Set the furniture back down. The weight helps seat the bond. EHBT adhesive builds strength immediately on contact.
Corner alignment matters: unlike round pads, square self-adhesive furniture pads have a visible orientation. Take an extra second to line up the pad edges with the leg edges. A rotated pad leaves corners exposed and looks sloppy from the side.

Smooth, hard floor compatibility

PA6 is chemically inert. It won’t react with floor sealers, wax, or cleaning products. The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) recommends protective pads on all furniture legs as a first line of defense for hardwood. Square self-adhesive furniture pads meet that standard across every smooth, hard floor type listed below.

Hardwood: solid and engineered, all species
Parquet, bamboo, reclaimed wood
Laminate: all types and AC ratings
Luxury vinyl: LVP, LVT, sheet vinyl
Ceramic and porcelain tile
Natural stone: marble and granite (polished)
Concrete: sealed, polished, epoxy-coated
Cork flooring
Linoleum and Marmoleum

Standard, Heavy-Duty, or Foam? Choosing the Right Square Pad

Three versions of square self-adhesive furniture pads. Same PA6 surface on all three. Same floor protection. The difference is underneath, and choosing the right one depends on how the furniture is used.

Standard pads (This Product)

PA6 surface + EHBT adhesive. Thinnest profile and widest size range: starting at 20 × 20 mm. The right choice for most residential and commercial furniture on flat, level floors.

You are viewing this product.

Heavy-Duty Pads

11 mm thick PA6 construction for pianos, large dining tables, heavy bookcases, and cabinets that concentrate extreme weight. from 30 × 30 mm to 300 × 300 mm.

For heavy furniture →

Foam Pads

PA6 surface + EVA closed-cell foam layer + EHBT adhesive. The foam dampens vibration and absorbs impact noise from equipment, speakers, and appliances. from 18 × 18 mm to 300 × 300 mm.

For vibration dampening →

All three versions protect smooth, hard floors equally well. Standard for everyday. Heavy-duty for extreme weight. Foam for vibration and noise.

Which Pad Shape Matches Your Furniture?

Match the pad shape to the leg shape. A square pad on a round leg wastes material and overhangs. A round pad on a square leg leaves corners exposed. Measure the base and pick accordingly.

Round Pads

For round legs, turned legs, cylindrical feet, and circular bases. from Ø 12 mm to Ø 300 mm.

Square Pads ← You are here.

For square-section legs. These pads with full corner-to-corner coverage. from 20 × 20 mm to 300 × 300 mm.

Rectangular Pads

For rectangular legs, sled frames, rails, and any base that isn’t square. in 6 width groups up to 510 mm.

Your floor was not scratched by the chair

It was scratched by the pad you put there to protect it. Here is how that happens, and what we do differently.

A felt pad, six weeks in

Flat felt is an open mat

It picks up sand and grit from the floor and holds it there. Every time the chair moves, that grit is dragged across the finish. The pad is still doing its job, and it is the thing causing the damage.

Superior Glide

A PA6 fiber face

Vertical fiber, not a flat mat. It does not trap debris the way flat felt does, and it holds its thickness under a loaded sofa or bookcase.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I use a square pad instead of a square glide?

Use pads for heavy stationary furniture: bookcases, entertainment centers, buffets, sideboards, and dining tables with square legs. Use square self-adhesive furniture glides for furniture that moves regularly, like chairs and stools. Pads skip the rigid ABS platform, making them thinner and better suited for large bases. Glides include the ABS platform for structural support under lateral movement forces. Pads come in for precise matching. Glides come in 5.

My bookcase legs are 120 mm square. Can I find that exact size?

Yes. Square self-adhesive furniture pads come in from 20 mm to 300 mm per side. You will find an exact or near-exact match for virtually any square leg, base, or foot. Choose the pad whose dimension is slightly smaller than your leg, so it stays hidden beneath the edge.

Can I stack two pads for extra thickness on very heavy furniture?

Not recommended. Stacking creates an unstable contact point. The layers shift under load, and the adhesive between them is not designed for pad-to-pad bonding. For extra thickness on heavy furniture, use square heavy-duty self-adhesive furniture pads at 11 mm thick instead. They are built for the loads that Standard pads cannot handle.

Will these protect hardwood from the feet of an upright piano?

Standard pads work for lighter upright pianos, but for most pianos we recommend square heavy-duty pads (11 mm thick). Piano feet concentrate extreme weight on small contact areas. The 11 mm heavy-duty construction provides the additional cushioning and load distribution that pianos demand. If your piano has round feet, use round heavy-duty pads instead.

How do square pads compare to cheap square felt pads from the hardware store?

Felt compresses flat within weeks, traps grit against the floor, and starts acting like sandpaper. The adhesive loses grip, and the pads end up stuck to your socks. Square self-adhesive furniture pads use PA6 needle-punched fiber: mechanically interlocked fibers that cannot compress flat, cannot separate into layers, and do not absorb moisture. The EHBT adhesive resists the creep that peels cheap felt off furniture legs.
