Standard leveling feet adjust by turning the base by hand from below the furniture. That requires reaching under the furniture, gripping the base, and rotating it. On furniture with low clearance, against-the-wall placement, or heavy loads on top, that hand access is difficult or impossible. Smooth-base hex-key adjustable leveling feet solve this with a hex (Allen) socket in the top of the threaded rod head. The hex socket is machined into the top of the threaded rod head, which sits inside the threaded insert when installed. The socket faces upward, accessible from above the furniture leg through the tube opening (on hollow tube legs) or from the side of the leg joint.
On furniture with hollow tube legs and round, square, or rectangular threaded inserts, the hex socket is accessible through the tube from above. Insert the hex key through the tube interior to reach the rod head.
