Two jobs, one press-fit piece: seal the open end of a hollow round leg and protect the floor underneath it. The PE body grips the tube wall with flexible ribs, and the PA6 fiber pad seated in the head slides clean across hardwood, tile, laminate, vinyl, and stone. No separate pad to stick on. Fits Ø 22 mm and Ø 28 mm round tube.

Standard tube plugs seal the tube and provide basic PE floor contact. That is enough for many applications, but it is not enough for hardwood, engineered wood, or any floor where scratches show. Pad slot round tube plugs add a recessed channel in the head that accepts a PA6 needle-punched fiber pad. The plug seals the tube. The PA6 pad protects the floor. Two functions in one press-fit product. The PA6 pad is not included. It is purchased separately and pressed into the recessed channel. The same PA6 surface used in all our furniture glides and self-adhesive pads, integrated directly into the plug head instead of applied separately. These PA6 pad tube plugs for furniture are also referred to as pad slot furniture leg plugs, floor protection tube plugs, or tube plugs with floor protection.

Same two-measurement process as all tube plugs: outside diameter (OD) and wall thickness. Pad slot round tube plugs require either Ø 22 mm (1.5 to 2 mm wall) or Ø 28 mm (1 to 2 mm wall). If your tube does not match these specifications, use a flat head plug and add a separate self-adhesive pad for floor protection.
Use calipers or a ruler across the widest point of the tube opening. Outside edge to outside edge. The OD must be Ø 22 mm or Ø 28 mm for pad slot round tube plugs to fit.
Use calipers at the tube end, or calculate: (OD minus ID) / 2. Ø 22 mm requires 1.5 to 2 mm wall. Ø 28 mm requires 1 to 2 mm wall.
Both OD and wall thickness must fall within the listed range. A pad slot round tube plug sized for Ø 22 mm / 1.5 to 2 mm wall will not grip properly in a Ø 22 mm tube with 1 mm walls.
Same press-fit installation as all our tube plugs. The pad slot head does not change the process. Install the PA6 pad into the channel before pressing the plug into the tube. Pad slot round tube plugs press in by hand at both available wall thicknesses. A rubber mallet provides extra seating force if needed.

The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) recommends protective pads on all furniture legs as a first line of defense for hardwood. Pad slot round tube plugs provide that integrated PA6 protection on hollow metal legs, with the pad ordered separately and seated in the channel.
The primary advantage over standard flat head plugs. When a PA6 pad is seated in the channel, it provides the same low-friction, scratch-free floor contact as our self-adhesive furniture glides and pads. On hardwood, engineered wood, laminate, vinyl, tile, and polished concrete, the PA6 surface moves quietly without scratching, scuffing, or marking. Unlike leaving metal or bare PE on smooth, hard floors, the PA6 pad prevents damage at the source.
Same sealed end as every other plug in the range. The pad slot design does not compromise the seal. Moisture, debris, and insects are kept out of the tube interior. On steel tubing, this prevents internal corrosion. Pad slot round tube plugs provide smooth, hard floor protection on the outside and corrosion protection on the inside.
PA6 is quieter than PE on smooth, hard floors. The needle-punched fiber absorbs contact noise that the harder PE surface transmits. In restaurants, cafeterias, offices, and conference rooms where chairs move constantly, pad slot round tube plugs with PA6 inserts reduce both scraping noise and the metallic ring that hollow tubes amplify.
The PA6 pad sits in a recessed channel that holds it mechanically. It cannot shift or fall out the way a self-adhesive pad applied to a flat plug head can. When the pad wears, replace just the pad insert. The plug body stays in the tube. The channel provides a more secure seat for the pad than adhesive alone.
The PA6 pad in pad slot round tube plugs protects every smooth, hard floor type. PA6 is chemically inert and will not react with floor sealers, wax, or cleaning products.
Every variant uses the same internal ribbed PE body. The head determines floor behavior, appearance, and specialized function.

The PA6 pad is the same needle-punched polyamide 6 fiber used in all our furniture glides and self-adhesive pads. It is sold separately and pressed into the recessed channel in the plug head, where it contacts the floor directly. PA6 provides low-friction, scratch-free movement on hardwood, tile, laminate, vinyl, and stone. Unlike the flat PE head on standard round tube plugs, the PA6 pad is specifically engineered for hard-floor protection. Order the correct size alongside the plug: Ø 14 mm for the Ø 22 mm plug, Ø 20 mm for the Ø 28 mm plug.
Yes. The PA6 pad sits in a recessed slot and can be replaced independently. Remove the worn pad, clean the channel, and press a new pad insert into the slot. The PE plug body stays in the tube. This makes pad slot round tube plugs more economical over the long term than replacing entire plugs when the floor-contact surface wears.
Pad slot round tube plugs integrate the pad into the plug head in a recessed channel. The pad cannot shift, peel, or fall off because it is held by the channel walls. A separate self-adhesive pad applied to a flat head plug relies on adhesive alone, which can peel under lateral movement.
These two diameters cover the most common commercial and residential chair tubing. Ø 22 mm handles lightweight dining chairs and office seating. Ø 28 mm handles heavier commercial chairs and bar stools. For other diameters, use flat head round tube plugs and add a round self-adhesive furniture pad for floor protection.
They slide. The PA6 pad has a low coefficient of friction, the same surface used in all our furniture glides and pads. Pad slot round tube plugs are designed for smooth, quiet movement on smooth, hard floors with scratch protection. If you need grip instead of sliding, use anti-slip round tube plugs.
