Business Solutions

Every quote from Superior Glide arrives with a written specification: the product, the size, and the mounting method for your floors and your furniture. It is the commercial furniture floor protection process behind some of Orlando’s hardest-working hospitality floors, and it starts with free samples.

Before the sales copy

What the record shows.

Numbers first, adjectives later. These are the working conditions this catalogue is bought for.

4

Generations tested

One resort lobby ran four glide designs on the same children’s stools before the failure stopped. The full history is below, photographs and all.

200+

Moves a day

What a busy dining section does to each chair. Call it 200 drags a day and the arithmetic reaches 73,000 a year, per chair, on the same four contact points.

6

Product lines

Glides, slides, pads, tube plugs, leveling feet and sled base glides, so one supplier covers a property’s whole furniture estate.

1

Specification contact

Approved accounts deal with one named person. Whoever reviews your first sample request also handles the reorders.

Case study: hotel lobby, children’s area

Three generations of glides failed. The fourth did not.

A flagship Orlando-area resort had stools failing in the children’s area of a lobby. Not the furniture: the glides. Four designs went onto the same stools, in the same room, under the same abuse.

Generation 1: PTFE slides

Wore down across the carpeted transition areas. When they came off, the screws had to be dug out of the legs, and the legs kept the damage.

Generation 2: single-nail glides

Commodity glides on one driven nail each. Repeated sideways force snapped them off and left exposed nails in the leg bottoms, pointed at the floor.

Generation 3: soft plastic glides

Wore down quickly and broke at the attachment point, the same failure as before with a different label, accelerated by the carpet fibers.

Generation 4: adhesive-backed hard-face glides

What we specified. A hard face selected for the mix of tile and carpet, bonded across the whole leg base with no nail to snap, and enough grip that a stool does not shoot out from under a child.

The lesson has held on every project since. A glide that works on hardwood will not automatically work on carpet, and the reverse is just as true. Specify to the floor, not to the catalogue photo.

Floor-care bodies argue the same from their side of the trade: the National Wood Flooring Association’s care guidance treats protectors under every furniture leg as basic maintenance for a wood floor, at woodfloors.org.

Case study: restaurant dining room

Why PTFE fails on commercial carpet.

The common assumption is that a Teflon glide slides forever. At home it often does. In a working dining room, the material arithmetic runs the other way, and it is measurable.

PTFE (Teflon) face

Shore D hardness around 50 to 60, with a softer rubberized layer beneath. Feels excellent on day one, and is softer than the fibers it rides on.

Commercial carpet fiber

Selected by the flooring trade for abrasion resistance, at a Rockwell R hardness around 100 to 120, with polypropylene weaves near 92. Against a softer glide it behaves like fine sandpaper.

A face harder than the fiber

The specification that ends the cycle: a glide face harder than the carpet it crosses, so the fiber polishes the glide instead of eating it. Hardness is the spec, not the brand name.

What that means in the current range

On commercial carpet

The ABS-faced furniture slides line, built on exactly this hardness principle, with nail-on and adhesive mounting.

On smooth hard floors

The PA6 furniture glides line, where a low-friction face meets sealed wood, tile and vinyl without marking them.

The materials reasoning continues in the furniture slides guide, including what is inside each slide and why the mounting matters as much as the face.

From first email to delivered order

A buying process built for facility teams.

No retail funnel and no generic intake form. Three steps, each one producing something in writing.

01

Tell us about the project

The request form, an email to sales@, or the phone line. Describe what you are protecting: the furniture, the floors, how the space is used, and rough quantities.

02

Samples arrive with a written recommendation

We review the project and ship the samples we would actually specify, free for verified businesses. The shipment includes the product, size and mounting method in writing.

03

You approve, we ship to your schedule

Stock ships promptly on approval. Larger and custom orders get a confirmed lead time in writing before you commit, and multi-site rollouts are handled on request.

Everything lands in writing. The recommendation, the pricing, the lead time. If a number is not written down, you should not have to plan around it, so we do not ask you to.

Who this is built for

Commercial furniture floor protection, sector by sector.

Each card reflects real orders, not personas. Find your building and start where it points.

Hotels and resorts

A 600-chair ballroom turned four times a day multiplies one bad glide by every cycle. We spec by room type, from ballroom stacks to lobby seating.

Restaurants and food service

The 200-drags-a-day environment from the case study above. Hard-faced slides for carpeted dining, glides for tile and wood, plugs for tube-leg chairs.

Flooring retailers and installers

Protect what you just installed. Handover packs for finished projects, spec sheets your customers can keep, and trade pricing on repeat volume.

Offices, facilities and public buildings

Task seating, conference rooms, council chambers and assembly halls. Specifications that survive heavy use and procurement review alike.

Schools and universities

A classroom moves its chairs fifty times a day for nine months a year, and most of those chairs stand on hollow tube legs. Institutional volume pricing applies.

Healthcare and senior living

Bedside tables, dining chairs, transfer seating. Quiet movement matters here, and so does flooring that is expensive to repair.

The short version

Why facility teams buy here.

Four reasons that survive procurement scrutiny, none of them a slogan.

Volume pricing, quoted in writing

Commercial projects price differently than retail. Tell us the quantities and the numbers arrive written down, so budgets can be planned around them.

A specification, not a catalogue link

Every quote names the product, the size, the face material and the mounting for your exact floors and furniture. You approve a spec, not a guess.

Lead times you can hold us to

Stock ships promptly on approval; anything larger or custom gets a confirmed lead time before you commit. No estimated windows we cannot meet.

One named person on the account

Approved business accounts get a direct specification contact. No queue and no chatbot: the person who reviewed the first samples handles the repeat orders.

For verified buyers

One account, priced for every order after it.

A business account is free, carries no minimum commitment, and usually follows the first sample conversation rather than preceding it.

What an approved account carries: project pricing on repeat orders without re-quoting, bulk ordering with saved history, custom sizing and colors on qualifying volume, net terms and PO billing on approved accounts, and that one named specification contact.

Who qualifies: hospitality groups, restaurants and food service operators, flooring retailers and installers, property and facility teams, interior designers and specifiers, schools, healthcare and government facilities.

01

Apply from My Account

Open the application under My Account, or start by emailing sales@superiorglide.com with your organization and what you buy.

02

We review and reply

A person reads it, not a filter. If anything is unclear we ask, and approval is confirmed by email.

03

Pricing applies at sign-in

Once approved, business pricing shows automatically when you log in, and the first order usually follows straight from the sample conversation.

Still open

Business questions, answered straight.

The buying mechanics for commercial customers. Product questions live in the product guides.

How does the free sample program work?

Describe the project: the furniture, the floors, how the space is used, rough quantities. We ship the samples we would actually specify for it, free for verified businesses, and every shipment includes the written recommendation. It is a working proposal you can put on a desk, not a generic sample box.

It scales with quantity, and larger orders price better. We quote in writing before you commit so the numbers can go into a budget as-is. For large or unusual projects, email sales@superiorglide.com with the quantities and we price the whole structure at once.

Stock items ship promptly once an order is approved. Custom sizes, custom colors and orders beyond standing inventory get a confirmed lead time in writing before you commit. We do not give estimated windows we cannot meet, which occasionally means the honest number is longer than a competitor’s guess.

That is the core of the service. Send what you know about the furniture, the floor and the traffic, and the specification team returns a written recommendation naming the product, size, face material and mounting. It comes with every sample shipment at no charge.

On qualifying bulk projects, yes, with confirmed lead times. Send the specification and the volume and we confirm feasibility before anything is promised. Custom work follows a first standard order more often than it leads one.

On approved business accounts and qualifying orders, yes. Apply for the account first, then raise billing during the first project conversation so terms are settled before the first large order, not during it.

Both are routine. Tell us how you want it structured: one delivery per property, staged waves, or a single central shipment. We confirm what is possible in writing before you commit to an order structure.

Yes, and it is a priority for us. Handover packs for finished installations, spec sheets branded for your customer file, and trade pricing that improves with repeat volume. Email sales@superiorglide.com with your typical project profile and we will set the account up around it.
