Overview

Standard Base Adjustable Leveling Feet with Pad

Standard leveling feet adjust height and contact the floor with a plain PA base. That PA base is adequate for most floors, but on hardwood, engineered wood, luxury vinyl, and other scratch-sensitive surfaces, PA under sustained load can cause micro-scratching over time. Adjustable leveling feet with pad solve this by integrating a PA6 floor protection pad directly into the base. The PA6 pad provides the same scratch-safe surface used in our furniture glides and furniture pads, permanently bonded to the leveling foot during manufacturing. Height adjustment and dedicated floor protection in one component.

Ø 38 mm PA base with integrated PA6 pad. Zinc-plated steel threaded rod. Available in M6 and two imperial thread sizes (5/16″-18 and 1/4″-20) for both metric and North American furniture specifications. Adjustable leveling feet with pad for furniture on scratch-sensitive floors. Rod length 25 mm. Black. Sold in packs of 4, adjustable in steps of 2 at checkout.

The Integrated PA6 Floor Protection Pad

PA6 is the same material used across our furniture glides and furniture pads product lines. It is engineered specifically for floor contact: low friction, high wear resistance, and a smooth surface that does not scratch finished floors. On adjustable leveling feet with pad, the PA6 layer is permanently bonded to the bottom of the PA base during manufacturing.

Why PA6 instead of plain PA

PA (polyamide) is an excellent structural material for the leveling foot body. It handles compressive loads, resists chemicals, and maintains dimensional stability. But as a floor contact surface, PA has a higher coefficient of friction and a rougher micro-texture than PA6. Under the sustained compressive load of a leveling foot (the full weight of one furniture corner pressing continuously on the same spot), PA can micro-scratch sensitive finishes over months of contact. PA6 eliminates this risk. Leveling feet with floor protection pad that protect from the moment of installation.

Bonded in manufacturing, not taped on

The PA6 pad is integrated during manufacturing, not glued on afterward. This matters because leveling feet take rotational force every time the height is adjusted (turning the foot rotates the base against the floor). A taped-on pad can shift, peel, or detach under this rotation. The bonded PA6 pad has no adhesive layer to give way, so it stays put through adjustment, relocation, and cleaning. PA6 pad adjustable leveling feet that maintain floor protection for the life of the foot.

Metric and Imperial Thread Options

Adjustable leveling feet with pad are available in one metric thread (M6) and two imperial threads (5/16″-18 and 1/4″-20). This makes the product compatible with both metric and imperial furniture specifications.

Imperial threads for North American furniture

Many furniture manufacturers in the US and Canada use imperial threaded inserts rather than metric. The 5/16″-18 thread is comparable in size to M8 and covers standard to heavy commercial furniture. The 1/4″-20 thread is comparable to M6 and covers lighter residential and commercial furniture. These imperial thread leveling feet screw directly into imperial threaded inserts without adapters, cross-threading, or compatibility issues.

M6 for metric specifications

The M6 thread covers the same lightweight to standard furniture range as M6 on other leveling feet in the catalog. Compatible with M6 threaded inserts in round (Ø 28 mm), square (20 × 20 mm), and other tube shapes. For heavier loads requiring M8, M10, or M12 without a pad, see standard base adjustable leveling feet.

Thread matching: the leveling foot thread must match the threaded insert exactly. Metric threads do not fit imperial inserts. Imperial threads do not fit metric inserts. Confirm your insert’s thread specification before ordering.

What Adjustable Leveling Feet with Pad Solve

Everything a standard leveling foot provides (height adjustment, wobble elimination, noise reduction) plus dedicated PA6 scratch protection on the floor contact surface. The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) recommends protective contact surfaces on all furniture legs, and adjustable leveling feet with pad meet that recommendation with a purpose-built PA6 floor contact layer.

Scratch prevention on sensitive floors

The primary advantage over standard leveling feet. On hardwood, engineered wood, luxury vinyl plank, polished concrete, and sealed natural stone, the PA6 pad prevents the micro-scratching that accumulates under sustained static load. Every table, desk, and fixture rests its full weight on the leveling feet continuously. Over weeks and months, a plain PA base can leave marks. The PA6 pad does not. Leveling feet with built-in pad that protect finished floors from day one.

Wobble elimination with floor protection

The threaded rod provides the same height adjustment as any leveling foot: turn to raise or lower each corner independently until the furniture sits level. The PA6 pad does not affect the adjustment mechanism. It adds floor protection to the adjustment function. Unlike leaving furniture on unprotected leveling feet, the integrated pad ensures the floor stays scratch-free while the furniture stays level. Adjustable feet with pad for furniture that needs both functions.

No separate pad to apply or maintain

Without this product, achieving the same result requires a standard leveling foot plus a separate self-adhesive furniture pad applied to the base. That adhesive pad can shift, peel, or compress unevenly. It needs periodic replacement. Adjustable leveling feet with pad eliminate the separate pad entirely. One component. No adhesive. No maintenance. No peeling.

Noise dampening

The PA6 pad adds a softer contact layer between the foot and the floor. On hard surfaces like tile, polished concrete, and hardwood, this reduces the contact noise when furniture shifts, vibrates, or is moved slightly. The noise reduction is cumulative across all feet on all furniture in a room. In restaurants, offices, and conference rooms, the quieter contact adds up.

Floor Type Compatibility for Adjustable Leveling Feet with Pad

The PA6 pad adds most value on smooth, hard floors where micro-scratching is the primary concern. On other floor types, the benefit varies. This guide helps you decide whether adjustable leveling feet with pad are the right choice for your specific floor.

PA6 pad recommended

Solid hardwood floors (oak, maple, walnut, cherry). Engineered hardwood with finished veneer. Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and luxury vinyl tile (LVT). Polished concrete with sealed finish. Sealed natural stone (marble, granite, travertine). Laminate flooring with wear layer. Cork flooring. Bamboo flooring. All of these surfaces can micro-scratch under sustained static load from a plain PA base. Adjustable leveling feet with pad prevent this damage on every contact point.

PA6 pad optional or unnecessary

Raw concrete and unfinished surfaces: already rough, scratching is not a concern. Textured ceramic tile: the texture itself dominates the wear pattern. Carpet: no hard surface to scratch. Industrial epoxy: designed for heavy equipment, furniture scratching is not relevant. Outdoor pavers and decking: use standard leveling feet or stainless steel rod versions for corrosion resistance. Rubber gym flooring: soft surface absorbs contact.

Specifying Adjustable Leveling Feet with Pad for Furniture Projects

For furniture manufacturers and facility managers ordering adjustable leveling feet with pad for new furniture projects, here is the specification process:

New furniture manufacturing

Specify these feet at the design stage. Choose the thread to match the threaded insert you are installing in the tube leg. For metric manufacturing, specify M6. For North American imperial manufacturing, specify 5/16″-18 or 1/4″-20. The 25 mm rod length provides standard adjustment range for typical commercial and residential floors. If your production needs different rod lengths or additional thread sizes with the integrated PA6 pad, contact Business Solutions for custom configurations.

Retrofitting existing furniture

If your existing furniture already has threaded inserts with M6, 5/16″-18, or 1/4″-20 threads, adjustable leveling feet with pad can replace the current leveling feet without any modification to the furniture. Unscrew the old foot, screw in the new foot with pad. The PA6 pad adds floor protection to furniture that was not originally specified with it. For existing furniture with other thread sizes, apply a separate self-adhesive pad to the current leveling foot base instead.

Your floor was not scratched by the chair

It was scratched by the pad you put there to protect it. Here is how that happens, and what we do differently.

A felt pad, six weeks in

Flat felt is an open mat

It picks up sand and grit from the floor and holds it there. Every time the chair moves, that grit is dragged across the finish. The pad is still doing its job, and it is the thing causing the damage.

Superior Glide

A PA6 fiber pad face

The face that meets the floor is vertical fiber, not a flat mat. It does not trap debris the way flat felt does, and it is built to take repeated movement without compressing flat.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the advantage of the built-in PA6 pad over a standard PA base?

PA is a strong structural material, but PA6 is engineered specifically for floor contact. PA6 has a lower coefficient of friction, higher scratch resistance, and a smoother surface that protects finished floors better than PA alone. On hardwood, engineered wood, and luxury vinyl, the PA6 pad prevents the micro-scratching that a plain PA base can cause under sustained load. The pad is permanently bonded to the base, so it cannot shift or peel off like an adhesive pad applied after the fact.

Why does this product have inch thread sizes?

Many North American furniture manufacturers use imperial threaded inserts (5/16″-18 and 1/4″-20) rather than metric. These inch thread options allow the leveling foot to screw directly into imperial threaded inserts without adapters. The 5/16″-18 supports 80 kg per foot. The 1/4″-20 supports 60 kg per foot. The M6 option serves metric specifications at 60 kg per foot. Choose the thread that matches your threaded insert.

Is the PA6 pad replaceable?

No. The PA6 pad is permanently integrated into the base during manufacturing. If the pad wears through, replace the entire leveling foot. The PA6 material is highly wear-resistant and lasts through the normal service life of the furniture under standard use conditions.

Can I use this on rough or textured floors?

The PA6 pad is designed for smooth, hard floors (hardwood, engineered wood, luxury vinyl, polished concrete, smooth tile). On rough or textured surfaces, the pad provides less benefit because the texture itself causes wear regardless of the contact material. For rough surfaces, standard base leveling feet without pad are adequate since the floor texture makes scratch protection less relevant.

How does a leveling foot with a pad protect the floor?

One leveling foot carries its share of the load on a PA6 pad face instead of bare plastic, so the base pads the floor while the thread takes the wobble out of the leg.
