Sled Base Glides

Sled base furniture rides on curved metal runners instead of individual legs. Every contact point where bare metal meets the floor is a scratch waiting to happen. Sled base glides mount to the runner at every floor contact position: straight sections, bends, and tube ends. PA (polyamide) saddle glides cradle the round tube runner and provide smooth, non-scratching floor contact across the entire frame. 13 products covering round, rectangular, and oval tube profiles. Sold in multiples of 4.

Choose Your Mounting Position

A sled base frame has three distinct zones that need floor protection. Mid-runner glides cover the straight sections. Corner glides cover the bends. End glides and clip-on glides cover the tube ends. Choose based on where the tube contacts the floor.

CORNER

Corner Glides

For the bend where the runner curves into the vertical riser. The extended base spans the full transition zone. The bend is often the highest-stress contact point on a sled chair.

Mid-Runner Sled Base Glides

For the straight horizontal sections of the runner. The saddle cradles the tube from below and is secured with screws through the tube wall. Five products cover tube diameters from Ø 20 to Ø 30 mm in four base shapes.

Ø 20 mm tube. Standard mid-runner for lightweight sled furniture.
Ø 25 mm tube. Compact footprint for standard sled chairs.
Ø 28 mm tube. Pad slot for heavy commercial sled furniture.
Ø 20, Ø 28 mm tubes. Round footprint with PA6 pad slot.
Ø 20, Ø 30 mm tubes. Extended footprint with PA6 pad slot.

Corner Sled Base Glides

For the bend where the horizontal runner curves upward into the vertical riser. The extended base spans the full transition zone. Mid-runner glides cannot fit here because the tube is curved. Three products cover three tube diameters.

Ø 25 mm. Two screws. Flat PA base. L = 72 mm. 15.8 g.
Ø 20 mm. One screw. Flat PA base. L = 74 mm. 18.5 g.
Ø 28 mm. Two screws. PA6 pad slot. L = 89 mm. 41.6 g.

End Glides and Clip-On Glides

For open tube ends and wireframe sled furniture. End glides insert into the tube end and are secured with screws. Clip-on glides snap onto Ø 10 mm wireframe runners without any fasteners.

Ø 28 mm. PA6 pad slot. Screw mount. For open round tube ends.
For rectangular tube profiles on sled furniture.
For oval tube profiles on sled furniture.
Ø 10 mm wireframe. No screws. Friction clip. 4.7 g.

Furniture Glider — Rectangular Base

For furniture that contacts the floor along a straight edge rather than a round tube runner. Mounts along flat bottom rails, rocking chair runners, and any straight floor-contact edge where saddle-mount glides cannot provide coverage.

15 × 45 mm. Nail-on PA body. Two nail holes at 31 mm spacing. H = 4 mm contact, 7.8 mm total. Black, Brown, Natural. 2.9 g. For flat-bottom rails, rocking chair runners, bench bases, and straight floor-contact edges.

Sled Base Glides vs. Standard Furniture Glides

Different furniture, different glide system.

Sled Base Glides (this page)
PA saddle glides that cradle round tube runners. Screw-mount or clip-on. For sled base (cantilever) furniture with curved metal runners. Multiple mounting positions: mid-runner, corner, and end. Sized by tube diameter (Ø 10 to Ø 30 mm).
PA6 or NR+CR surface on an ABS platform. Nail-on or self-adhesive. For standard four-legged furniture with individual legs (chairs, tables, desks). Sized by leg cross-section (Ø 23 to Ø 75 mm round, 23×23 to 75×75 mm square, 33×19 mm rectangular).
